BEHEMOTH – unveils new album artwork + release date announced!
Polish black/death tank BEHEMOTH will release their newest album “Evangelion” on August 7 via Nuclear Blast in Europe. Check out the cover artwork attached!

“Evangelion combines a pure art form with a direct message. It was also important for us to ensure that the graphical presentation did justice to the record. Again, we have worked with Tomasz Danilowicz who has created his best illustration yet for BEHEMOTH. The picture is of The Great Harlot of Babylon riding the seven-headed beast. Saints bow before her in worship whilst the tablets of the Ten Commandments lie broken at her feet. It represents our vision and the interpretation of the New Testament parable where the “Whore of Babylon” is a symbol of rebellion and resistance against God. I am fascinated by stories whose source lies in the Bible and we have used biblical symbolism, coupled with my own experience and outlook, in our lyrics or on the covers of previous Behemoth records. I love to juggle with meanings and play around with symbolism which is exactly what I have done in this case. The main character of our new cover is an archetype of disobedience, individualism, self-determination and a free, unfettered will – these are universal keywords which are typical and crucial in understanding the character of our works, life as a whole and the true nature of man.” Commented Nergal.

"..(…) And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns." (Revelation 17:1-7).

The black metal legend BEHERIT has returned from the dead!
Beherit is best-known of it´s most influential album, “Drawing Down the Moon”, which was recorded between April and August in 1992. It was released in 1993 as the band's first official LP. The album was named after an ancient ritual, "drawing down the Moon". The album was highly experimental within the black metal scene, as the band used whispers and space-like electronic sounds to strengthen its hypnotic atmosphere.

Despite it's success, “Drawing Down the Moon” was to remain the band's last black metal release, as they split up the next year. The band´s leader Nuclear Holocausto Vengeance still recorded two albums of dark ambient music, “H418ov21.C” and “Electric Doom Synthesis”, and released them under the band's name. As the band didn't reform and Holocausto had at the time lost interest in black metal, he went on to continue his musical career in dark ambient as "Suuri Shamaani" and in hardcore techno as "DJ Gamma" for a number of years.

But it just wasn’t in the cards that Beherit would entirely cease to exist. Combining the venomous vitriol and vehemence of the band’s early years, moodier and doomier electric soulscapes of Holocausto’s ambient droning and the hatred for all mankind, 2009’s grand comeback “Engram” sees the black star rise once more, reinforced with personnel renewed and malign intentions of old...

"Engram" is to be unleashed in April 9th!!!

MY DYING BRIDE´s new album to be release on March 23rd
NEW STUDIO ALBUM FROM ‘THE UK CHAMPIONS OF GLOOM’ (KERRANG!)

My Dying Bride have been the leading light of doom metal since their debut album ‘As The Flower Withers’ was released on Peaceville Records back in 1992. Influenced by acts such as Celtic Frost and Candlemass, the band’s heavy atmospherics have carved a huge worldwide following over the years and they remain at the pinnacle of the genre and one of the most instantly distinguishable metal bands.

‘For Lies I Sire’, My Dying Bride’s tenth studio album, is set for release March 23rd 2009 and consists of 9 songs of crushing doom, recorded and mixed at Futureworks in Manchester, UK, with long-time producer Mags throughout the second half of 2008. It is the band’s first album since re-signing to long-time home Peaceville Records, and looks set to become another quality addition to the MDB catalogue, such is the scope of this latest journey into the depths of despair.

This album is the follow-up to 2006’s hit, ‘A Line Of Deathless Kings’, and is the first studio album with new members Dan Mullins on drums, Lena Abe on bass, and violin/keyboard player Katie Stone. 2008 has seen a successful year for the band, having released their live CD/DVD ‘An Ode to Woe’, plus their high profile ‘Unholy Trinity’ shows re-uniting the ‘Peaceville three’ (Paradise Lost, Anathema & My Dying Bride).

Featuring some seriously heavy-as-hell sombre doom, ‘For Lies I Sire’ wades effortlessly and poetically through tales of darkness and gloom, this time textured with the much-anticipated return of the often-missed violin, last featured well over ten years ago.

‘Within here ‘tis not just total doom, it´s majestic and miserable too. Suffer ye, amongst this most melancholic of metal, forged by the masters of misery.’

Tardy Brothers (OBITUARY) to release solo material!
THE OBITUARY BROTHERS RETURN WITH A NEW SLAB OF CRUSHING FLORIDIAN DEATH METAL In 1984, John and Donald Tardy started their first band, Executioner (later Xecutioner), with long time friend and guitar player Trevor Peres. By 1989, they changed their name to Obituary, and the first album Slowly We Rot was released. Almost 25 years and multiple releases later the Tardy Brothers have decided to record some of their own music. Tardy Brothers Bloodline is the first of what the brothers hope are several releases that they plan to invite some of the many friends / musicians they've met over the years to record with. For the first release, the brothers have invited new Obituary (former Deicide, Death) guitarist Ralph Santolla and are bringing back the original Executioner guitarist Jerry Tidwell!

DARKTHRONE `Dark Thrones & Black Flags´ to be issued in the end of Oct.
Darkthrone return this autumn with their 14th album, a perfect fusion of blackened rock, metal and punk. 'Dark Thrones & Black Flags' is a continuation of the Darkthrone sound, style and uncompromising attitude witnessed on the acclaimed 2007 album 'F.O.A.D'. 'Dark Thrones & Black Flags' is equal parts Fenriz and Nocturno Culto. The duo share song-writing and vocal duties throughout the release (with some surprising results) and further perfect the art of 'the riff'. A deceptive
mastery of composition is also evident on possibly their strongest release of recent times - an album of stripped down, dirty metal.
Recorded and produced by the band themselves at Necrohell II studios, Norway, 'Dark Thrones & Black Flags' is an exercise in pushing the
conventions of the narrow perception of what should make black metal, becoming more timeless & faithful to its spirit than most could ever wish
for in the process.
